    I have site.

In site I have give 1 page name is like “aaa-bbbbb—ccccc.html”

My question is, see “bbbbb—ccccc” here I use “double dash (--)”…

Can “double dash (--)” harm the search engine ranking….?

My all other page name have not included “double dash (--)” only 1 page included “double dash (--)”…

It’s harm the ranking in google and other search engine….or it’s working normal ?

Dash and underscore will be treated as normall letters in search engines, so 2 double dash just like you have 2 same letters there. Don't worry, it will not harm your rankings. But just curious why you want to name like that.

I would suggest you keep the use of the - character down to a minimum.

The search engine do infact treat the - and _ differently, as the - character is used to seperate words and where the _ character is used the words that preseed and follow are treated as just one word.

    Hmmmm very interesting...

I have just recently added a 0-9 and also A-Z catagories in both my directories.
    In Biz-king i have the link like this.....http://www.biz-king.com/Computer/Web_Directories/-A-Directories/ -A-Directories

And in Sleek directory like this....http://www.sleekdirectory.com/Internet/Web_Directories/A_Directories/ A_Directories

These Urls are Very New and only a week old, so im watching everyday to see when they get cached and to see if and which one will get indexed first.

The -A- urls are very sweet as they make all the others go in line, were as the A_Directories methed interfears with the over all results.
