Google search box

How does putting one of these on your sites earn you money? Does it queue up adwords results or something?

 

You just answered you own question - yes, if you have Google AdSense for Search, the top listings displayed are AdSense/Sponsored listings - if someone clicks one of those listings you get a payment.

This works really well for some websites, and not so well for others; I think it really depends on the genre of your site and the demographic of your website visitors.

But ... it can't hurt to offer the service up to your visitors IMO.

 

I use the search box on my site.. because you can choose the preferences and I offer a "SafeSearch" It is good for the people who visit my site and I get the revenue too..love it!

 

i barely make money from it, but the search is better than the internal of my site xD that's why i keep it

 

I've seen one site direct linking search query to adsense for search results. Is that allowed?

 

Is that a good earner for you?

 

I never earn money with it, but I see visitor's use it, so it's a service for my visitor's.

 

I agree it is sort of handy with the chance to earn a few cents too. I made .44 one day off of it.

I earn a good deal with the search box

 

It does not earn any "real" money but it gives visitors a reason to bookmark the page and that is worth it's weight in gold.
