If I have a google search on a site that I also have YPN ads, is that against TOS? They are not confusing because one is a search and one is an ad. They look different too (colors). The page that the search results populate have no YPN ads. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
It depends - is it just a plain old Google search box or an AdSense for search box? If it's an ordinary search box then no problems. If it's an AdSense for search box it could cause a problem. AdSense for search boxes are classed as ads by Google and they probably won't like you displaying alongside the ads of their number 1 competitor. Despite all the (contradictory) stories you may have heard about AdSense becoming more understanding about competing ads I don't think I would risk it. I hope you've checked the YPN terms too.
I actually called YPN (because you can do that with Y!) and they told me it was fine with them. I actually had the rep go to my site and then note the approval in my account. Is there a number to call for adsense? If so it is so far buried in the TOS, et al that I can't find it...I'll have to post in their group and wait for an intelligent response I guess. Thanks.
Hey, that's really good. I'm glad you told us that because the fact that Yahoo have friendly people willing to listen and help is another positive point over AdSense. Can you ring AdSense? Er, no you can't. You can't even speak to a human there 9 times out of 10. There's a few dicks in the AdSense Google Group mind you - no names, no pack drill (but a guy called 'Chuck' springs to mind). A pat on the back for Yahoo.
