    Hi,

When you implement a google search box on your site, is it allowed to style the button and search field to match your site?

The google button looks hella-ugly and doesnt match my site at all...
    Anyone any ideas about this?

    Thanks

I've been wondering about this myself. I sent an email to google about a week ago so if no one knows for sure, I'll post when I hear a response.

    Thanks.

Another thing, the html code for the search field is 1997 html or something... It's not xhtml 1.0 valid and therefore messes up the whole page for validation... One would expect that a big company like google knows about valid html and styling...

I also asked if I can modify the field size without having to redo the whole search box because the fields are a lot bigger on a Mac and look like crap.

None of Google's code is that great

I've seen many time some site use a custom search box.
Try using a custom search instead of regular google search box.
