I would like to use it in one of my script Google claims that a maximum of 1k queries per day is allowed Do they really check the number of queries per day? (I mean by an automated mean or sthg) or is it just an additional term of use?
But how do they do all these site where they propose PR prediction or other Google scripts then? If you count 5 queries average per visitor, it would mean that they can only accept 100 visitor per day which is not a lot ! Any idea? Do they use the API or what?
Exactly, but if they give everyone the amount they need the server may rash in an unlimeted circle made by some hackers .
Those PR prediction are not being done using Google API. they are done by reverse engineering the Google Toolbar and from there understand the way PR is being calculated. Anywya none of the PR Prediction script out there are legal. All of the are against Google TOS.
Is it possible to get multiple Google API keys and use a second set of keys as soon as the first 1k API calls per day are reached?
I was just asking about this in Google Groups and surprizingly someone said they sometimes look at it on a case by case basis..... So, there may be life after 1000 queries, in some cases, but remain to be seen..... Anyone know if you can pay for commercial use and get more?
However, All your doing any kind of SEO for adsense sites or whatever are breaching their TOS etc. Since that is commercial usage. I think it is a bit unfair since they in the beginning allowed people to use their API, even for commercial stuff I have been pondering about one solution (for those making applications, not those using them) If one were to developer various open source implementations of it... One could then make and release applications etc. with a standardized generic plugin interface... Thus users themselves could choose to install the given dlls / plugins / modules. That would solve the problem for those developing commercial / shareware / freeware (which in a way is commercial as well since these often indirectly promote other services) producs.
