    HI Guys.

How long does it take google to update the text for a site that appears in the SE results?

depends how often the google spider visits your site.

check the cache for you index page, see when google last visited.

1 thing to bare in mind, the more often you update you're website, the more often google will send their spiders to crawl you're site. This is why blogs do so well on search engine results.

If you havent updated your site in awhile, create a google sitemap and submit it, spider will come visit within a few hours, and another within a few days.

Mine too, it take about 2-3 days to show my updated content, but mine is a static web site that was seldom changed so maybe Google indexed it lesser

I also find that the more frequently you ad new content to your site, the more frequently the google spider indexes and cache's the site. And indeed sitemaps help

It also does appear to help if you operate a google webmasters account and verify your websites
