I thought I would point out google's webmaster guidelines located at

    http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769

I don't know about other search engines, but this is what google says.

    If you look under

    When your site is ready

    There's a point which says

Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.

I wonder what google says about blog's for the people keen on getting their site in a blog.

They also say that paid reviews should have nofollow hooked up to the link, yet yahoo will take your money and not add a nofollow.

Google is full of duplicity, it happens when you are trying to talk out of both sides of your mouth.

Gotta agree here, submit your site to as many directories as possible! There is more ways people find your website then just google!

I did this many months ago, and I'm still not listed. It's ridiculous. I wish there was a way to pay dmoz to make it get listed faster.....
