it will be a very difficult task for them and "scrapers" that earn from this scheme will surely have problems dealing with this.

That realy going to be interesting to see There are thousand of joke sites that have the same joke on it and written the same way.

Sometimes we receive reports about AdSense code appearing on websites that may contain content copied from other websites. We understand that many of our publishers are concerned about this issue, so we'd like to give you some information about the procedures and tools you can use to protect your content

How are they going to tell which jokesite was first. Google will never fix it. Google one day will fall flat on there a$$es They are not god

Google has every right to decide which publisher it wants to work with or not. Copyright infringement is forbidden in their TOS, they're just applying their own rules.

How does that make them the internet police? How does that make them decide right from wrong? You're over dramatizing it. They already refuse publishers for plenty of other reasons, and it is within their right.

Most people with honest web sites have nothing to worry, those that copy others will get what they deserve, life time banning.

If you fear for one old site that is not squeaky clean, remove adsense from it and start fresh.

Google's Bots crawl the web. They had technology to time stamp the data. So, they know when the data is posted on Website A or Website B.

    >> Earlier the better...:p

Not so fast... I can post 1 article, BUT you can rip it and your site gets indexed faster...

If only they could accept emailed complaint. There's too much hassle to write and then wait for the mail to arrive.

Google is getting annoying. 50% of sites have copied content. If everyone starts complaining, then internet is history

Maybe by accepting only written complaints it will enhance the legitimacy of the claims. I can imagine a lot more spurious/spam claims if all a person has to do is fire off an email. But a physical letter might cut down on that so that only the more serious complaints are made.

Now that I read blogspot it appears that a lot of what we see out there is simply copying/scraping and could handled via https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport That appears to be a bit different from the issue of copyrighted material, though that line has become pretty blurred.
