I checked today and the selling link spanking must be over

Do a search on Google for 'sell text links"

I found a lot of sites in the organic results and in the paid results with high PR and there are sites listed in the organic positions 1 to 10.

    So whats going on?

    Read more here!

It's time for a change we need to force Google to stop spreading lies!!!!!

It doesn't seem like it will as they also apparently retweaked to pull innocents out.

The question is has your bank called about the loss?

    Mortgage company seem concerned?

What about the car loan people are they concerned?

Has your accountant called and wants to discuss fiscal ramifications?

I have seen some sites lose PR but their SERP positions didn't move.

I have a PR0 site that made $5.09 from Adsense yesterday on 10 clicks.

Has your revenue taken a dive?

For example if you were pulling $500.00 per week and are now down to $300.00 a week then you might want to be concerned.

    Just my thoughts....

last I checked my bank does not have a Google green ingot indicator anywhere on their walls...

Google return results based on what you search for, it doesn't mean they condone what the site is doing.

I think the PR penalty was Google's way of fighting back at those who have been using the tool they created and released to the public (PageRank) as a price guide for buying and selling text links. In some cases people were buying text links just so they could get a higher PR for their own site. It's Google's tool, so they can play around with it however they want to mess with the competition, which in this case is companies like TLA.

I see adwords and adsense advertisements that read "buy high pr links," "high pr links for sale," etc., all the time. While Google may not want you or I selling links, they sure don't stand in the way of their advertisers doing it. :D

that's coz those people are not promoting "child porn" . allowing that would be morally wrong .
but that does not mean they wont be penalizing those sites ultimately ... allowing advertisement is business as always .

well even though some of us will get PR back... it's still a big loss for those that have lost 2-3 in PR. now they'll have less buyers.

Very true. My point is that if Google feels compelled to penalize those that sell/buy links, then they should first clean up their own house. Google's business as usual approach certainly looks like they themselves don't mind promoting pr juice sales - providing they are making money from it... But then again, monopolies can do that. :D

The way I see it, no one really knows what Google is up to regarding penalization of many sites. Better stop the speculation on this matter to prevent negative feelings from a certain reason.

Maybe it got penalized because you did something that is worth to get penalized. Just maybe.
