Google say QS Great, minimum bid $0.04. 4c for ads to show or to appear in frontpage?

So when Adwords show that your QS is great and suggest 4cents minimum bid, what does that suggestion mean?

4cents for your ads to appear, even 5 pages away or 4cents minimum for your ads to appear on the first page?

    Thank you for reading.

It means the minimum bid needed to show your ads within their network.

It does not mean first page

    Thanks, man...

I guess I should set preference position to 6-8 if I want the ads to just break into the front page.

I just posted for someone else who wanted to be at the # 1 spot

Its better to be at # 2 to 4 as people will often click the 1st ad out of instinct....

There is also research by MarketingProfs I beleive and some of my own experience that conversions are better at 4 to 7

CTR% is not as good at those positions.. but the conversions were better.

    Hey, thanks for the details.

Yeah, I read somewhere that conversion is better at the bottom halve, that is why I'm aiming for 6 to 8.

But, my campaign just started and I'm not sure what is the bid needed to maintain in that position.

So, for now I just set it at $1 with position preference of 6-8.

Hopefully Adwords prioritize the position preference.

Right but what if, you get a lower overall cost because your ctr is so high?

Hmmm.... I guess to achieve higher CTR then you have to work on your ads by split testing.

Probably after you achieve a certain amount of CTR, then you can focus on getting the ad position up.

Thanks... Your little question set up a system in my head :D

I can vouch for the 4-8 spots, I convert way better there.
