We need to add... Q - What should I do if I find a hard, candy bar shaped lump in the sandbox? A - Your in the Kitty Litter and not the Google Sandbox, now get out and wash your hands.
I thought sandbox was some kind of testing like whitebox, blackbox, greybox lol. Good thing i read the post as i actually learned something new Thanks for the info.
Hmm, you've made me wonder about this. I have a site about game cheats, walkthroughs, trainers and related stuff, it's in my signature. It's about 3 months old, I've managed to list in DMOZ and on various directories. I get about 30-60 visitors daily, about 10-15 from DMOZ, about 35 from Google Search and the rest from various directories. I'm on the first page on Google for search phrases like: yugi the destiny savegame kana walkthrough intellectual zanzarah-savegame two tenkaku eikeso thundertruck rally games clusterball-trainer ys iv story adol christian ygodeckswitch gunmetal-the game blaizinG hiphopmania game 1503 trainer brian meermans call of cthulhu dark corners of the earth pc god mode starscape god-mode neverwood game gonarchs versteck ps2 xcom2 editor harvest moon magical melody truffle jadeware android 1.2 shellshocked ps2 Would you say I'm still in the sandbox, considering these facts ? If yes, what should I do to improve? I think I am still sandboxed but I don't know.. I'm not too worried about it.
Now i understand a lot of things that happened and happen to my sites, i though google hated me. Thanks everyone for the great information.
Good simple post to learn sandbox effectively. It actually contains all the facts-not rankink and for specific words only
Good post Aaron. We started a reality TV site in August/September 2005, and had moderate search engine success. Not much from Google at all, but MSN ranked us pretty highly! I'd heard of the sandbox, but never saw the effects before. Bizarrely in February 2006, our hits from Google went through the roof - we'd served our time and finally got the results we deserved! Now my strategy is to launch a new site in the early stages while still developing, make a few small backlinks to it and submit to Google. As you say, I spend time developing the content and the theme and wait until the sandbox period ends.
the sandbox, is not a real term, and certainly not conjured up by google or anyone apart of it unless you would like to show proof, which you will find difficult if not impossible?
wow, this was very helpful to me... I was wondering why an article I wrote and submitted to a site is listed #2 in google for my keywords... but my site is no where to be seen! Thank for the info! Anyone want ot help me build a sandcastle to live in while we are here?
yeah... whats up with that? I'm going to be more careful from now on... I am afraid to use my own article as content (fear of duplicate content punnishment)! From now on I am writing completely different articles to submit!
