As per the myths flows Google sandbox is an algorithm the way Google ranks the pages in its index. Its existence has always been a subject of debate and but not confirmed. And it is also said that sandbox affects only the long phrase keywords. Basically the new websites are put in sandbox until the site proves itself worthy to be ranked by the Google.

Definitely exists. I had a site completely disappear from results for a temporary closing. But it came back to life in results after a relaunch within a week. Seems they don't like drastic changes of content or general large changes.

How hard is it to get back from the sandbox when you have gotten there? I have a site that has been ranking in the top ten since 2009, but I have neglected the site for some time and now it got sandboxed (rank ~#200 now). How hard is it to get such a site back and ranking? I guess it is harder if it is penalized, but if it where penalized, I guess it would not be ranking at all?

Hi Melloweitsj , As you have mentioned that you have neglected your site for a time duration, may be it was a cause of your ranking drop. As we know people with the same niche are competitors and if you are not continuing your promotional activities and SEO then it's sure that your competitors will take benefits.

It definitely exists bro, someone call it sandbox while others call it filter! But whatever you name it Google filter or sandbox, it really exists out there.

I'd liken the sandbox to the blackhole. Enter it, enter oblivion. Always difficult to get back from.

I'm pretty sure on of my websites was "sand boxed" when I first built it because the site started getting indexed before I got around to changing the default WordPress pages. After I added about 15 posts it took about a month before my rankings started to grow normally...what ever normally is these days with Google.

Well, some people say, it's alive, some people say it is not. Actually, now SEO is different and most complicated then it was a few years ago.
