You guys all have probably heard of GoogleBombing.... making sites rank for keywords that arent even on the site, such as the "Miserable Failure" stunt played against George W. Bush.

Now what about GoogleBowling?.... making nasty x-rated backlinks to competitors sites to sabotage them.....

Many say Google has denied this works.... and said that Inbound Links cant hurt you.....However I read that Google danced around this question before, and even said something like "it wouldnt really effect you except in some borderline cases"........ this is basically admitting that it works

I have read on some forums that people have been victimized by this nasty tactic.

There has been so much speculation on this

I say we test it now!!!!

(Also, a sidenote to my SEO enemies who I know read my posts:... if you EVER try a tactic like this on me, I am prepared for an all our SEO war against you & and your sites ---- Im prepared to launch the biggest sh*t storm you've ever seen until you are wiped completely off the SERP's -- MARK MY WORD ITS A PROMISE --- If its crossed your mind, think again -- because Im ready for war)

Ok, now that I got that out of the way:

About a month ago, I posted an SEO challlenge called the "FSOG BOODLE" challenge:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1017141&highlight=fsog+boodle

I challenged everyone to see who will be #1 for FSOG BOODLE, a madeup phrase

Right now, it looks like FSOG-BOODLE.BLOGSPOT.COM is winning, with squidoo.com/Fsog-Boodle, code4gold right behind... someone even registered boodle.me haha

What do you guys think...... I say we pick one of these, and see if GoogleBowling really works!

Or, someone volunteer a site they have that has no use, to launch a Googlebowl --- and see if Googlebowling is real once & for all!!!!!

Dino. Just wondering, is there any way to combat this problem. Or are we just screwed if it happens to us?

What are you trying to achieve now? To rank a "clean" website for a nasty x-rated term by linking with that anchor from other random webpages?

Or link to that website from "bad neighborhoods" in an attempt to get the size penalized or deranked for certain terms?

Google bowling worked for a few weeks from what I heard, then google caught on and it doesn't work anymore, just like google bombing. The truth is that google PhDs are not going to be shamed by some kids getting a site like bank of america dropped from SERPs by cheating the system. Google is not a company full of idiots, they are probably one the only companies on the planet with so much bright young talent.

I've tested bombing and bowling, and really, neither works anymore. I did up a free site and had my team bowl and bomb it, neither was a success.

You should remove your signature link - it leads to a site that tried to infect my pc upon opening.

    You should be banned.
