Google is great and all, but Facebook is not going to lose. They are EONS ahead of Google. You can compare what Google is doing to the search engine "LIVE" trying to compete with Google search engine.
This is just my personal opinion. I think Google wouldn't be able to beat FaceBook. Reason is FaceBook already established as a brand in that field. They have huge number of loyal happy users. Thats hard to beat. Consider Kijiji as an example. Was Google able to beat Craigslist? Nope, far from that. And lot of people don't like the idea of one person or company having everything.
That's because this feature is new - Google has the money and power to beat FaceBook, they can buy their way to the top, yes?
I think Google can win. Facebook appeals mainly to teens and college kids. Youtube has a much bigger audience, and they could even promote it on their search engine.
isnt Kijiji Ebay? and its huge outside of the US. Kijiji.com alexa = 9500 Kijiji.ca alexa = 1600 and Canda has 1/10th the population of US and there are Kijiji's in other counties too granted craigslist alexa = 50 But i think Kijiji will eclipse Craig overall, even if it never gets as big in the USA oh, and Ebay owns a chunk of Craig too. Something like 25%
OpenSocial is not the name of the social community site, it is what is used for the application programs.
Google can't beat facebook. google can throw money at the idear but like eveything else they have started or tried to compete in its not going to be a market leader. Google should just stick to search. The other companies (except myspace) that are jumping onboard are just trying to survive cause they know if they don't do something now, they will just be gobbled up by facebook. Like YouTube > Google Video could not compete and had to buy them out. Google is smarter this time, they are partnering with other big players so they are half a chance.
definitely agree with you there buddy... Google can't just compete with everyone just to be the number 1 in everything...
