Remain calm. Please wait behind the yellow line until Google comes to a complete stop. I see "something" happening, but this is common.
I agree, but i have noticed some changes in the index in the past week. I do not know if it is a roll back, but i think that a data refresh is whats happening.
whatever it is, I am back exactly were I was before the last big data push. If they did just update serps, what would the chances be of me ending up exactly back where I was prveiously?
This is just a guess, but i think they may come back, from the sites i watch, it seems to cycle itself during data refreshes.
I saw one site lose all rankings on the 16th. Today (18th) another site is starting to do the same (some dc's still have good rankings, but it's losing in most). Assuming its a data refresh (or data push) and things will probably stay this way till the next one (next month probably). Bah.
It looks like the dates 27 and 16 come back often... feels like this is going on 2 times a month, some more noticeable than others.
I've seen a lot of fluctuation in my site's numbers over the past month or so, and now my numbers are more consistent with what I was seeing previous to the fluctuations. A data push is when a search engine (Google, in this case) takes data from their internal servers and pushes it out to their external data centers, so that the new data starts to show up on G's SERPs. I suppose that these recent shakeups could be a result of G updating their datacenters, and now things are settling back down...
I'm noticing the removal of a lot of indexed pages for new sites (less than a couple of months old) and no changes for old sites.
My data: June 27th to July 27th traffic dropped to 10%/normal then returned to normal. October 28th dropped (first went down to 30% for about a week)to about 15%/normal and is still that way now. The site is in the study abroad aread (which is fairly well paying) so that theory about getting hot by spam filters could be correct. Obviously if they are using spam filters, they don't work as they block the good and the bad.
well i lost 95 indexed pages to supplemental hell, now have 9 all original content too ;0) time to wait for update in dec or jan or 2036 lol
It seems my site got hit hard two days ago. I've learned to not even worry about it. There is nothing I can do, so why stress. It usually comes back, and it's just a wait and see kinda thing.
Well now I'm actually making my site less user friendly, changing the programing so that it creates less pages, less doorways to data so if it is that I'm getting hit by that 'spam filter', then maybe it will help. What happen to trust rank? Why would a site that's been online for 7 years start spamming?
Why would a wife or husband start cheating after 20 years... that one is not always for the same motives... but for a site... $
Life has not been fun for me. I still haven't recovered since the August 05 days. Dreaming of those again. Anyhow... I have been pretty steady for about 6 months, then on or around Nov 1, traffic dropped to a 1/3 of what it was. Adsense revenue as well. I noticed indexed pages dropping in Google search results... then I would see a climb, and then a drop. Most importantly, they dropped all my original content pages (ie, actual content pages, not forum content) which was really odd. Today, I notice yet another 50k in pages dropped from index on one site and another 25k on another site. To afraid to look at adsense on a daily basis anymore... I check once a week and then cry. I did notice google bots hitting some old pages (generating errors) that I haven't had up in probably 8 months. Very weird. Guess I will stick with feeding one of my kids instead of two this week!
