    Guys,

When I am seeing my websites keyword in Top 10, one of the keyword ranks in 9th position, but at a same time when I search in Top 100 "&num=100", it shows me in 16th position.

For e.g: My keyword "Cars India" when I search in normal Google.co.in, it shows me at 9th position, but when I search the same keyword in top 100 "&num=100", it shows me in 16th position.....Why?

Why am I facing this problem, do you all facing the same thing....?

this is because google join results from the same domain on a given page.
for example if a certain site has one page with rank 3 and another ranked 20
with 10 results you will see only the page that ranked 3, but with 100 they will be joined together and your page will go down

One reason may be due to the way Google selects results when displaying 10 per page. They don't simply select the 10 sites at the top of the search rankings for that particular search. They also aim to display 10 results that reflect the variety of different sites relevant to the search.

In other words, if there's a site that might normally rank around position 12 for the search, but let's say the site content is significantly different to other results for the search (maybe a more critical slant on a story), this site might get "promoted" into the top 10 when you view 10 results per page. This gives a better range of relevant searches in the list of 10. If you viewed 100 sites per page, the site would appear in it's "normal" position of 12.

That means sites might cross over the boundary at 10/11, depending on whether you view 10 or more results per page, so this could be what's affecting your positions.

Of course, if other sites get "promoted" in this way, you might see your site's rank pushed *down* from within the top 10 to a little outside the top 10, so it can swing both ways.

The rankings from the "100 sites per page" are probably a better reflection of the "true" positions.
