I've heard some chatter over the past few weeks about changes in Google affecting search results in AOL. Results for a search in Google used to yield identical results in AOL. NOW, when you do the same search in Google & AOL, different results show up. AOL has a SafeSearch filter (default setting is enabled). With SafeSearch OFF, the results mirror what is seen in Google. With SafeSearch ON the results are different - depending on the keyword search, the results can be drastically different. Change the settings in AOL search here: http://search.aol.com/aolcom/redir?src=PTL&clickedItemURN=settings%3Ftype%3D1&clickedItemDescription=Search%20Settings Try the term: "men shaving cream". Google results / AOL Search (SAFE SEARCH OFF): 1 - www.kiehls.com 2 - www.drugstore.com 3 - www.drugstore.com 4 - www.thisnext.com 5 - www.aveda.com 6 - store.crabtree-evelyn.com 7 - store.crabtree-eveyln.com Default AOL results (SAFE SEARCH ON): 1 - www.drugstore.com 2 - www.drugstore.com 3 - www.thisnext.com 4 - www.aveda.com 5 - trafalgarshop.com 6 - www.amazon.com 7 - www.amazon.com Has anyone else experienced this? Is there really anything I can do solidify my rankings in AOL? Should I even bother with AOL?
