I am new at search engine optimization and just started a website recently. However, there is something that seem strange to me with Google, I hope someone might be able to explain this to me. Basically, I submitted my website to some directories. One of which is www.canlinks.net. A few days after I submitted my site to this directory, I was able to do a search on google and it will show that canlinks.net had included my site. Basically I search for my website on google, and the canlinks.net page showed up (I can’t remember if I did a back-link search). Anyway, now a few weeks later, I can no longer find that on google. A back-link search shows nothing to my site. I went to canlinks.net and found that my site is still listed in there. So why does it do that? Could it be that I’ve done something to my site that would cause this (since the site is still not completely finished and I am still working on it)? Or is this something that have to do with Google side of things (they remove certain pages in their cache)? One link is really not a big deal. But I just want to find out more about this before I start to build a link campaign.
It's just 1 link, it's not enough to go on. Just keep building more links rather than fussing over 1 link not appearing properly.
as i undersatand , you have only one backlink from canlinks.net. more backlinks will help you to get better results. i suggest you to focus on backlink building.
So something like that is normal? Ok, I'll continue to try to build more back-links. Thanks everyone.
If your backlinks are all new those links are not quickly counted by google as backlinks to your site. Google usually update links every three months, so you can only see some changes in your backlinks every three months.
Well backlinks won't do you any good whether its 1 or 1k... If you don't have proper content on your site for it to hold on to its basically useless.
