need what in writing? I reported a site, why would I bother writing and pay attorney fees for something thats not even my problem? I am helping them stop the site, not going to do anything legal about it.

if you are filing a copyright violation, you have to fax them something saying you are the legitimate copyright holder of it and ask them to remove it. its the way it works. no attorney involved, i don't think.

then why email? its the copyright holder's responsibility to make sure their content isn't being stolen.

lorien; its not the copyright that's the problem, its the fact that they are stealing content.

Well i guess you all missing the point. If the material is stolen off DP, then the DP owners has to file a complaint and substantiate the claims..

You or me has no say in this. Google wont care about us coz we dont own the content.

To Addurobi... actually you tried to help it out and your email should be sent to the owner of site (DP) and not to Google...

I guess that such is a default reply to common complaints.

A friend of mine got a similar response from Google after reporting spam results elsewhere

Agreed. What's funny is the ignorance this guy is showing.

Did you really think that with your silly little email they would just delete the site from their index? Gee, I could send 10 emails complaining about my competitors and my second page listing would get bumped up to #1!!

A DMCA complaint can only be sent by the site owner. They have just sent you a default common reply.

My case was obvious, but appearently I shouldn't even bother. Those s.o.b.s. ban innocent people and give premium to non-deserving mofos.
