Google Removes its Directory

    @ Mods -- thought this is more Google issue than directory issue - so posting here ( please transfer if you deem it fit)

    Just got the news that Google will no longer run its directory!!:confused:

    Google never had its own directory. They scraped results from DMOZ. Even with the scraping and duplicate content, Google still outranked DMOZ for many keywords.

    lol -- now that it released the DEMON called PANDA which can't tolerate duplicate contents -- so they had nothing but to scrap it --LONG TIME DUE -- isn't?

    The Google directory which you are talking about was no other than Dmoz. And after Panda Google was caught with its own ploy. So it was certain to take place and it did.

    Sure web search is the fastest way to find information online. But if you want others to find your shared information you need directories like google, dmoz and other out there...
