Hi there Thats what I was saying in the post??? 1, Pr updates happen every day, 2, its the little green tool bar that people seem to follow that I think you mean. Originally Posted by janicejan google rarely done PR updates this year in which I don't really know the exact date.. @Canonical Would it be far to say someone could read the above statement by jancejan and get the wrong info????????
If Google removed the toolbar PR, then yes it would slow down the link sellers a bit, but its already been confirmed by Google that the toolbar PR is staying. So regardless of the message Google claim they are trying to get across, it all means nothing while toolbar PR remains. Cheers James
1, If someone follows there sites PR thinking it will help ranking in the serps there wrong it play such a very very very small part of the puzzle its not worth talking about........... 2, If someone follows PR for getting links and do not check the link profile of the website this also wrong, If a plumbers site for example a gets a few pr5 links from porn sites and there PR goes to a PR3 there is no relavence in the PR given and no trust from the links. So point being if your a plumber and you want a link on a PR3 plumbing site if they have trusted links from related sites that the way to go.
Good one. Atlease here after people will focus on gaining traffic rather than wasting their time on gaining high PR.
I for one am very pleased to see this annoying feature removed. I never though it has any "real" relevance.
It's okay with me since I'm not focusing in improving my PR. I'm more on working with link building with targeting my keyword. And my real goal is to rank with Google.
I think PR has almost no value. For me is better to have PR0 but a lot of visitors instead PR5 and no visitors. Maybe it's better to PR dissapear because link vendors will dissapear too...
ya i'm a pr0 new sight and i'm getting 1,401 unique visitors a day according to google analytics so i think pr is over rated myself.
i was also expecting pr to slowly be out of the scene.. however if u have ur hopes up that google will ditch pr completely.. then ur about to be dissapointed.. google cannot ditch pr.. google executives will go crazy over this idea.. it is far too much branding.. and i think everyone who understands seo and se's will understand how much branding really means to google.
This was just my prediction, PR will sooner or later be removed by google in order to make way for new ideas, I'm sure Big G can come up with new ways of branding trusted sites without using PR.. so my point is always be aware and open minded to new ideas or else be sucked in a space warp!
Yeah I already read this. There are many speculation thoughts about this. And I guess they are just doing some improvement.
While the actual PR is updated constantly/daily, you never see it... never know what it is. The Toolbar PR that is displayed as the little green bar(which Jancejan is referring to I think) is NOT updated daily. It's only updated typically every few months (although this year they seem to be doing it more often than every 3-4 months).
