I will like this tool so long as it is on other websites, linking to mine.

I just threw it up on my blog to see what happens. Maybe you get some good Karma from Google by using it?

    Fingers crossed.

OK I didn't know whether to put this in Adsense or General Google so save your comments unless you're a mod.

    Check it out: http://www.google.com/relatedlinks/

Now of course Google will get paid off those links. So my question is once Google has a large enough network of webmasters who don't know they can get PAID to have those links on their site what will happen to Adsense?

Maybe this will be the entry level for AdSense. "Get Related Links on your site and once you have 10.000 hits a day we'll email you an AdSense invitation code".

That's not going to make them get rid of Adsense. They want all the ad inventory in their network they can get.

I'm going to be more than a bit cynical here...

These links offer you a way to waste valuable screen real estate and also provide you a way to lose precious visitors to other web sites.

And as an additional bonus, you earn nothing! :D

Maybe they are offering different ad styles and also different budgets. If you have a huge site everyone looks different to you :D

Well... no, the links they show are not "paid for" (except the search links of course, where they show their own ads). I have checked it on several of my sites and most of the links they bring under "web sites" do not even use Adsense.

    I bet they're just out for the pagerank-boost :D :D :D

    Its for dummies.
Maybe google will limit adsense to great sites. Ex: if your site doesn't takes 50.000 unique every month then we can't take you to adsense but if you want to show ads then you can use this tool "free" :)

Google's next project: A cutting-edge program where we pay them for allowing us to display their ads. ;)

My initial reaction was "adsense without the money," too. It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to put this on their website when adsense is almost the same thing except that you get paid for it.

I put it up just see what it shows. Golly - it never changes! I even posted something new to my blog, but it didn't seem to pick up any new information - even after 24 hours.

Hmm, I guess if you are a new site it fills the bill for an RSS feed. It can take up space and add a little content. However, I agree with what others have said, there has to be something up their sleeve.

It's possible they could turn this into a traffic-sharing/link-swap program. In my opinion they'd be a bit dumb to do that, though, since such a program competes directly with the primary source of income, Adwords.

    I completely agree with you.

Besides thats a system which is for people who do not have content for their sites.

Its beter to use DMOZ ODP than G Related Links.

Aside from the fact that this is adsense without the revenue, from an SEO perspective, it is fresh content on your website.

The question I'm not sure about is can the search engines (those other then google) read it as new content since it is javascript based.

Also from an SEO angle, could this lead to faster indexing of pages similar to google sitemaps since now they know your website exists?

Reading JS is no problem - but most search engine turn a blind eye to parsing and running that code to see what happens. So, from an SEO perspective it is worthless. I took it off my site.
