Hey: Just wondering if there is such thing as a regional penalty.... I have a site, UK based IP with mostly UK incoming links and regional UK in google that ranks 50 to 60 for a keyword in the UK Everywhere else it ranks front page.... Any suggestions? should i change regional setting to global?
Ranking 50 - 60 is a sign of a likely penalty. You have probably done something spammy at some point. Many thin affiliate websites incur such a penalty.
IP is UK based...google location set to UK.... why is there a penalty if everywhere else is fine....front page....
I would not say this as a penalty but opposite of that.. there may be more competition for that keyword in your local SERPS
never heard of such penalty perhaps Freewebspace is right. there is more local competition for ur keywords.
