    Hi,

24 hours and a few thousand impressions and still 0 clicks
If I don't see results in the next 3 days I will remove them.

    What's you experience so far?

Maybe your ad placement is too far away from the content?

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater! Sometimes it just takes a little bit more time and effort.

I replaced the normal ads with the referrals.
Same formats, same position, same colors.

I will give it a try for another 2-3 days, but the initial impression is discouraging :(

Stick with regular text ads. Keep them close to your main content. And close to your menu or navigation. Above the fold. Placement makes a HUGE difference. I thought it was bad too, but moved my ads around and now I get paid twice as much as before.

Referrals are tough to use. Unlike your content ads, they require more than just a click (sale, signup, etc...)

You just have to be smart on how you use them. Since they require more actions than a simple click, I try to stay away from anything but single line text links. These look less like ads, and if you can find one that will appeal to your target audience they are very easy to blend into your web site.

The main problem right now is that there are not many referral units to choose from.

Yeah, i'm earning almost double through the single text link unit, but conversion to click ratio is bad. Something like 1 in 11. It could do with more advertisers, and making the advertisers much more searchable.

early results are in for my first 5 days of referral ads.

I have simply replaced a few of my regular ads with the referral ads without making any changes to placement.

When I looked at the number of clicks on the referral ads and how much i have earned, so far I am making 2 1/2 times more through the referral ads v/s regular ads.... so I am one happy camper.

When the potential pay out is between 20 to 110 times greater for a conversion, it does not take much to come out ahead.
