Hi For those who have submitted a Google reconsideration request because your site was penalised, how long did it take before Google got back to you? Many have made changes to their penalised site(s) such as removing links, improving design, following Google webmaster guide lines etc etc, and then submitted a reconsideration request but not seen any changes or had a reply from Google. There does not seem to be anyway of knowing why a site is/was penalised unless anyone knows of anything different. Any one got any tips they would like to share? Thanks
Google will not Reply you..., If they find that your site is no more breaking Google Guidelines they will remove your Penalty but It will take some time.
I've seen a site take like 3 request over a 3 month period. However, I had 2 sites re-included within less than two weeks. I believe that the request itself how its written makes all the difference, assuming you fixed the issues that caused the violation of terms. I believe the more apologetic you sound the better your chances, also make sure you make it easy to find what changes you have made. I believe I found somewhere on this site, if you do a search an article on the structure in which to write your reconsideration request. As well make sure to have a "real site" with the unique content. You also won't hear back from them.
Google reconsideration request is overused by everyone. Many sites are not penalized in the first place. Just the owner panics at some unknown event. After 7 years, I have only used it once and I still don't think it was needed. What's amazing is that everyone know G will penalize you but I asked the DP Forum members to list them and they couldn't. Everyone is reacting to rumor, myth and the need for a quick result. You need to know for sure what and fix it before you go to Google. But you will also find that if you just let your change take affect, the issue (penalty) would go away.
They won't send you a respond, but if you have fixed your website.. it will get back in the SERP's with in a week or two
I don't think you have to request a reconsideration request when you feel that your site is penalized. Only some major changes like you said is enough. You have to wait and keep the link building going.
