Hi, anybody every filed a google reconsideration request? How did it go? Did you see improved rankings afterwards, or did it get worse? one of my sites ranks on the 5th page and more for all my keywords, and it doesn't make sense to me because it has tons of quality backlinks and good on-site SEO, so I am thinking of filing a reconsideration request... but I would like a maximum information before proceeding... does the site disappear (or drop) from rankings for a while after you file a reconsideration request? Any information is appreciated Cheers
I doubt they even read those...must be getting 1000's every day. Unless your site has completely vanished from the indexed, I doubt a reconsideration request will make any difference.
My best guess is that you can in fact file such a request, but it's unlikely to bring any results. There are loads of people all over the web who think their results do not reflect their actual performance. It may be just your perception, not the objective lie of the land.
I have a site that until now is not appearing to google (deindex) it's been 4 months now since I file reconsideration but as I'm not expecting that they will ignore it.
google web master tools is best way to notify about google reconsideration request and u get your normal ranking after that.
I don't think we will get any reply for our reconsideration request.. And when filling reconsideration request form, give as much information you can give about the bad thinks you were involved in which forces some penalty on your website and steps you will take to solve problematic areas
Offer a night of fun with your wife or girlfriend to the reviewer, it works wonders. Part time prostitution in exchange for pr being returned and better ranking. Its a small price to pay.
I also lost all my Google traffic on 4/3 on one of my sites (completely gone from SERPs). Went from 200-300 visitors a day from Google to 2-3. I figured my site was either in the sandbox or penalized. I made some changes to the site that I thought Google may not have liked (removed a reciprocal link request form, removed internal links to my other two sites, added more text content, re-arranged my pages to put all my content together without having it broken up by my affiliate ads). Then I filed a reconsideration request apologizing for what I thought I had done wrong and explaining what I had fixed. I never got a response to the request. Traffic came back on 4/17 stronger than ever. Did my fixes actually make a difference? Did they actually reconsider my site? I have no clue. My site may have just come back on its own as many seem to do eventually. If you're going to file a reconsideration request then you really have to admit that you didn't follow guidelines in some way, apologize and fix what you think is wrong. Then you simply wait!
Well I did file a rcosideration once and got my ranking back, Just removed excess link exchanges and let them know that.
