www.cashtalk.org was pr3, on update it should hit pr 4 or 5, i never sold any link, but in my advertising page it was writen that im selling link ads, google penalized me because of that now www.cashtalk.org is at 0, but who cares about lame PR.

    Yawn.

    this again ?

Wake up and smell the FUD folks!

Paid links work and Google knows it, so it wants you to believe that it will find your paid links, and you'll lose your SERPS. But the proof is in the pudding, and the pudding says its pure fantasy. Propoganda of the lamest kind. ;-)

But the proof clearly indicates that Google IS detecting which sites sell links.

Google is doing a lot of changes so everyone will be worried about selling links but they still work just try to emulate ordinary links.

Google is not detecting anything. Google is a machine. It knows nothing.
Google relies on webmasters etc to report paid links. Those are the only ones getting looked at - manually.

But there are no penalties. All they do is drop the little green bar on the selling site, and all the sheep say baaaaaa, "Look at what they've done. My rankings will surely drop !! "

But you know what, they don't.

Why? Because toolbar pagerank is a red herring. Always has been . Always will be.

Some PR decreased here, but no gray PR bar (unranked).

Well, Google says otherwise...do you have proof? I find it perfectly believable that Google is able to detect patterns that indicate probably bought links.

I seriously doubt that Google has done nothing to discount or penalize - that all they've done is remove the visible PR.

    Do you have proof?

you can never get in toruble for having your link on someones page even if its a link farm!!!

if this was true i would just submit all my competitors links to all the link farm i know!!!

if you have a bad website link on your site however, thats a different story...:)

The burden of proof is the other way round. I haven't seen any evidence that paid links aren't effective anymore. I've got a range of sites ranking for 1 and 2 word commercial terms.

Until that changes, I still see a naked emperor ;)
