Google rankings

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice.
I'm a bit of a newbie to all of this; I've built my own website.... with very little, well no experience tbh.

It's been up since May and my hits are slowly increasing month on month.

I want to rank for the key words 'baby eczema'

In searches on Bing or Yahoo, My site appears on the first or second page, yet its no were to be found on Google. Feed back for people who find my site is good, people spend time there.... look at a few pages ect.
I'm getting links all the time from good relevant sites and I'm hosted in a Google friendly neighbourhood.

I just want to understand why I'm performing so poorly in Google searches.

May be ur site don't have original content ....if it's original then make some strong backlink on good PR sites

 

I can't think it would be lack of original content. It's all new content, 10+ text heavy pages, with images

 

Content is King : you should write some good quality content and try to get some revelents backlinks
you will get better results

I'm still very puzzled. My site is all original new content.
Feed back form people who find the site is great, and over 60% of my visits are between 5mins and an hr or more.
I get deacent rate of returning visitors.

My site is all my own articles, that was the point in me setting it up.

Bing & Yahoo, seem to like the site enough to list it on 1st & 2nd page of a search.... It's only Google I have problems with.

 

I think you can enhance your search results by submitting your site to Google and then to social bookmarking sites.

Do a keyword analysis to target your keywords that you want to rank in Google. Then you can start to do the link building techniques. Gain your backlinks iwith your targeted keyword like directory submission and forum submission.

I agree with the above, backlinks is a major part of driving your site up google, but dont focus all your efforts solely on linking, content is just as important

 

If you write often, you will have a lot of visitors and when the visitors share your pages, you will get more Rankings..

 

try to create a unique content for your site.

 

It also be the case that your website is still not indexed in G. Check it out with the link of your website.

Better submitting a sitemap to G.

 

Are your site is well optimize .
if no , then first optimize your site regard your targeted keyword .
if ya, then go to start off page activity like :- link building and SEO submission work .
you find improvement in Google search result .

 

Try to get more quality links using your targeted keywords as anchor text.

But you lack relevant quality backlinks according to yahoo siteexplorer.

Please do some promotion, build content and inbound links with the anchor of the keyword you want to rank and you will see your rankings and traffic increase.

 

Use directory critic to apply to other directories and get those valuable back links.

It would be well easy to get ranked for these keywords. first you need to have good quality content on the site relating to those words. and then make sure your keywords are in the meta tital, And then build links from directory sites with your keywords in the directory listings.

 

Well, I see you have been given some good advice. But apart from content and links, the first thing I am going to ask is: Why do you "want to rank for the key words 'baby eczema' "?

Did you research the word? Rule number one is making sure you are going after a phrase that converts, whether it is for sales or for information. Rule number 2 is how much competition is there for that phrase.
