I have been trying to use Bum Marketing to drive traffic to a blog I set up to sell an affiliate product. I ran into one very annoying problem though. I wrote an article based around a very low competition keyword phrase (only 793 optimized results in google), and I submitted it to a few article sites. I am still waiting for ezinearticles.com to approve my article, but I got accepted by articledashboard.com almost immediately. After about a week, my article was on the first page of google for my keyword phrase without the "" around it. I was very happy! However, by the end of the day, my article had seemingly vanished from google. I searched through 15 pages of results, but my article is nowhere to be found. What could the problem be? Does google not like articledashboard.com? I also submitted to goarticles and search warp, but neither of them did anything. With "" around my search term, however, my article is still the second result on google. None of this makes sense. I climbed the rankings and then fell just as fast. How do you get your article to stay on the first page?
I am not an expert on bum marketing but you are not alone when it comes to this problem. I had the same situation happened to me several weeks ago. After doing some research it looks like is very common for Google to change the ranking on your article several times before settling down. I have no idea why it does that. Many people have this same problem and it is becoming more frequent for what I can tell. This is very frustrating but I really don't know what to do about it. May be bum marketing is not as effective anymore... Ivan
perhaps the article had a low CTR compared to other features on the page? it would be logical that people not clicking on an article would devalue it in google for the searched keyword (just a little google theory of mine)
This is what I think might have happened. Anytime Google finds you it will present you very quickly to see the general reaction to what ever keyword is driving your article. If there are favorable responses then you stay longer. If not you are dropped of. Google aims to present info users want. which can be tricky and dicey. Richard
Thanks for all the responses. Is there any chance it will go back up. It went up and then back down in about 3 hours, so I don't know how it could have stood a chance of getting many clicks.
