One of the sites i manage is http://www.adsynergy.co.uk . Its main key phrase is "Birmingham Advertising Agency". The site is number 1 in Yahoo and MSN and has been for a few months. However its not even in the top 200 in google. If i do an allinanchor it appears top. The site hasn't been banned. I know that its a mainly flash site but thats why i created the HTML version as well. Google must think something is ok about it because the main page now has a PR5 and many of the subpages (including the links page) have PR4. Any idea why this site isn't performing in Google? Its been up and running for a couple of years although i only took over the management last november. Thanks in advance
I would suggest adding your keywords on your landing page as well as placing them in <h1> or <h2> tags as well. Since you have a flash site there is no content to index so you have to give yourself a little boost by optimizing your landing page for the keywords you are interested in ranking for. I would suggest writing a 250-500 paragraph about the business and the services you offer (paying attention to keywords) and adding it to the landing page. I would also change the title for your homepage to "advertising agency Birmingham" or "Birmingham Advertising Agency"... I say this because a quick search on google.co.uk for your keywords shows a bunch of sites at the top with these keywords in the title... in fact every site on the page has "advertising agency" somewhere in the title. Your site is missing the "agency" in the title. At a pr 5 you should be able to get on the first page for these keywords... there are only 2 million competitors. You just need to give the search engine's more information on the homepage... and optimize your title and meta description.
To give yourself a further boost make sure that any links you can get to your site include your keywords in the anchor text.
Not blaming Google, i'm just asking the question The site has lots of links and they all contain various things like "birmingham" "advertising" "marketing" "design" "west midlands" etc. Like i say its top with allinanchor. I've changed the title as suggested and i'll talk to the client about adding extra content although thats why i created the Non-flash pages which are the ones that mainly appear in MSN and Yahoo. Thanks anyway
