I am noticing something weird while Google is dancing all over my site. I've been hitting my SEO on target and the other day my rankings jumped to #1 for almost any keyword related to my niche. Then it disappeared. While I know this to be normal while Google is reranking the site, the curious thing is it keeps coming back, like on a timer. 6 Hours on, 24 hours off. But everytime it comes back on, it moves ahead to the next six hours. Example: On 12 midnight - disappears 6am Back on 6am the following day - disappears 12 noon back on following day at 12 noon - disappears 6pm etc.... Has anyone else seen this pattern? It's happening every day since Sept 23rd. Just curious.
Can't say I see the same thing as you are seeing. You wouldn't happen to be logged into your Google account while checking your rankings at that time would you? If so, that will affect your position.
No, not logged into my account. It doesn't disappear completely, just goes back to position 14 or so. I actually noticed it when my site stats started oscillating very definitively. It is a very noticeable traffic spike / drop.
