Google is very active in telling you what it wants. You have to know what your customer wants and does not want. Cheers.
I think it is good for us, you know some people want to have a high pr so they go to buy links, and it is not fair for us,now google removed pr, which factor could affect our site?
another thing that normal people don't care about page rank... how many ebay or amazon members are buying there just because of them pr???? its just for webmasters, those just worry about pr, just because they want to show off to other webmasters that they have pr, and also its just for them those want to exchange links and buying or selling links ??? just try to guess that stat: that how many normal users of internet buying links??? and how many normal users are shopping at amazon and ebay with out knowing them PR???
I used to check the authority of webpages with that green bar. But now without it in the toolbar...I can't calculate pr in my mind ! http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Webmasters/thread?tid=6a1d6250e26e9e48&hl=en#all
Though the discussion is losing steam with so many useless contribution I really think Pageranks must Stay. For webmasters it is important. This the grade every webmaster aspires for . The fact is that Google PR will stay.
I can honestly say that in the years I've worked on websites - either for myself or for clients or third parties - I have never paid attention to PR on my sites. Never. I've worked on websites with low or no PR that have done very well. High PR does not always equal success.
Google PR will stay no dought. The question is will toolbar Pr stay? I have already seen 2 top Google employees say they would rather see it go. Matt Cutts “Personally, I wouldn’t mind removing the PageRank in the Google Toolbar or swapping it with some other indicator, but that would be a large undertaking. Maybe that can be a long-term goal for me. †and Susan Moskwa "Personally I would love to see us remove PR from the Toolbar, but mine is not the only opinion in Google and the folks I have most contact with--site owners--aren't the only users or stakeholders of Toolbar." I guess time will tell.
They talk about PR in the toolbar. Not removing Pagerank. I guess they might just keep some old PR value in the toolbar to kee us talking about t. That is probably what the board and owners want. They understand PR(as in PageRank) is a good PR(as in Public Relations) factor in the online community. PR is great PR!
Google is not going to remove the PR. It might have the same condition as that of supplemental pages. Google used to display them but removed it from webmasters' view. But it is still running at the background and have influence of web page rankings. Google PR is PR for the company search department, if they are going to remove it I am sure other search engine will try to take over it's place. Bing's Page Score might take it place in the coming year, if Google is going to remove PR. Right now it is shown in Bing's Webmaster Center account.
This is great. Too many people were focused on trying to obtain a good pagerank, when really you could have a pr0 and be making $500+ daily no problem .
There are some new tools tools that are currently not working like the google labs I have not seen that before. I think its a good idea to drop the pr as this will help those with poor pr get good backlinks from now on which is what google wants for you I think?
