Google has delayed its latest page rank update due to a complete overhaul of its search engine indexing system. The main change has been "Reciprical Links", which are now being targeted by google bots, negatively affecting a sites ranking in the search engine. The talk for some time by webmasters has been that google is cracking down on "Paid Links", well this simply isn't true. It is impossible for googles algorithims or personnel to detect a paid link if it is a one way link. Which a majority of paid links are. The only other area google could possibly crack down on is reciprical links, as the algorithims can easily detect that reciprical links are not natural. It is possible for sites engaging in simple link exchange processes to be caught up and wrongly punished as a possible reciprical link provider. Google seems to be moderating its entire indexing system, to ensure that strong sites based on traffic and natural back links, recieve higher rankings in the search engine. This can only be a good thing as there are to many weak sites rating high in the search engines, due to inconsistent and unnatural back links. E.G , Type in the popular phrase "Live Cricket", instead of cricinfo or another well known global cricket site, a small free cricket blog through blogspot comes up, which contains one page of text. Reasons such as this, is why i support google's complete overhaul of its indexing system. Interestingly enough i wrote this post three weeks ago as a draft in my notebook. As you can see within three weeks this site no longer has any rankings in the popular search term "Live Cricket". An example of how the indexing system is already improving. The Reciprical link targetting by googles bots, is mainly concerned with directories, and there excess numbers of backlinks which is creating increasing difficulty in googles ability to index sites accurately. http://howimake1000adaywithadsense.blogspot.com/
I have been conducting talks with colleagues on the subject and it seems this is what google is moving towards with the new indexing format. Several other recognised SEO blogs agree with this, (authors). I am going to get there official opinions in the near future for you all. Thankyou
You make a thousand dollars a day with adsense on your blogspot blog with no comments? Anyway, I see no real evidence for what you claim. Reciprocal links occurs everywhere and are quite natural...even if Google changed the algo to devalue reciprocal links, cancelling them out, a penalty to sites which happen to contain links to the sites which link back to them...well, I think that would be impossible. Many sites have at least one reciprocal link.
