It could be coincidence or it could also be the result of something "else" you've done to promote the site(...) Keep promoting your site and wait a few days
If your site is new then this would be common... even the worst submission service cant get ya banded within 1 day ... laterz M1
This can not happen. Not all directories would have approved your listings. And not all pages would have been crawled. Dont worry. Continue link building and you will succeed.
Submission to directories will not penalise you at all, I have submitted my website to 2,000+ directories within two weekends and nothing happened, although I had position flactuations. Whenever you get many links google will re-evaluate you and you might see site flactuations, but if links prove to be ligit (by staying there for some time) google will push you higher as they'll realise that there's a good reason for those links. You also have to remember that even if you submit to 1000 directories you will only be listed in 100 of them within a few days, you'll have to wait for a long time for some of the listings. As of this your ranking is natural flactuation and if you keep on building links (from directories or somewhere else) consistently you will see your site going up.
This is a pretty good example.. If g does that, then your competitors may simply submit your site to the so called bad directories / websites..
I agrre with Discover .. it's impossible that all pages were cached in one day .. for sure other methods of promotion ..
First, Submitting to a directory does not mean getting accepted immediately, especially if you used a directory submission service (free directories), because of the amount of submissions free directories gets, the chances of your website being already listed in any of them 24 hours after you submitted is CLOSE TO ZERO, and even if your site was accepted in 3-4 of them just 24 hours after u submitted, there is the caching factor, for google to find those links and index and cache them, it will take a few days too if you know how google, directories, indexing and caching works, you can easily conclude that your DROP in rankings has absolutely nothing to do with your directories submissions..
