    hi,
was wondering if any one can share experiences with Google Public DNS from google,

past few weeks the net has been really slow here, BSNL broadband India,
    especially in the afternoon,...

just tried Google Public DNS, and it actually does work,....
not that the page loads any faster, but the time the browser takes in "Looking for www...." has reduced considerably!:D

    anyone else?

I have not tried that yet but I definitely will as speed and security are important to me. I do a lot of searching and browsing and more speed and added security would certainly help.

Actually now the speed of BSNL broadband 750 UL has been increased from 256Kbps to 512kbps.. And i am not finding any speed issue.. But it is true that it takes some extra time resolve the ip address of the website through DNS.
Let me try the google public DNS and post it here..

I have an airtel connection and nowadays i am really pissed off with their service. The pages take a hell lot of time to respond and most of the time it says, couldnt find the address specified instantly, refreshing loads the page though.
I have tried the google DNS for some days, but i cant tell if there is much difference. Yeah, that page couldnt found problem is resolved completely, but cant tell you about the difference.
My local airtel DNS gives me a latency of 8-10 ms and the google DNS pings @ 125-130 ms. So even if the google DNS is faster, we cant benefit from it much coz its very far away from us.
