    Hi All,

Google made net profit of $1.03bn (£524.4m) in the last three months of 2006.
It said the result, on sales of $3.2bn, was helped by high internet traffic in the holiday shopping season and it has also benefited from problems at its closest rival, Yahoo.

Does any one have the info abt the net profit of yahoo. if yes then plz post that also

    bye

GOOG down today. Investors were expecting more. I also hear talks of disappointing numbers on non-GAAP basis. I haven't looked into it myself, though.
I don't think YHOO has filed their 10-K yet. Their net income in Q3 was around $159MM.

For starters isn't Yahoo still only focusing on US traffic?

Doesn't that kinda limit their market for advertisers thus limiting their profit. Just a thought for the "problem" mentioned above.

Yeah, plus their YPN has been a rough ride for their webmasters / affiliates.

I'm not so sure about that. Yahoo Japan is extremely popular.

Yahoo! is continuing to lose market share to Google in search traffic. And so, of course, Google's AdWords/AdSense system is trouncing all competitors. Yahoo! has seen some success recently in display ads in their content pages - which is where I think they believe they have the best chance for growth.
