Google prefer alternating SEO strategies?

I have noticed something as I track my SEO efforts. For several weeks I signed up on a large number of paid directories, and as I did I watched with joy as my site steadily climbed the search rankings for my keywords. Then after about three weeks, suddenly it stopped producing results. I continued submitting to directories, but I didn't move up in the search rankings at all.

Then I tried adding some articles to article directories, and once again I started to climb in the search rankings.

So I was wondering, does google disapprove if you use the same strategy for too long and stop rewarding your efforts if they are too narrow in focus?

I think so also...it's good to diversify yourself with blogs, forums, articles, and video. Not just one particular method.

For this problem i suggest you to try to add different description in directories. Something natural will pull back the crawler.

    Yes.

    Above poster said right,

Use different description for every directory,

Actually directories, article and classified submission is temporary back link not permanent,

For permanent back link you should use Blog,Forum,Social book marking.

Submitting to directories should only be a small part of your overall off-page optimisation. There is only so much that you can achieve submitting your site to directories. Having all your inbound links coming from directories doesn't look natural nor smart. Google is not dumb. So continue diversifying your link building. But don't just concentrate on articles. Try to gain some real, high quality, one way links from sites that are closely related to your's - these will be your most beneficial links by far.

Link Building has an impact on Search Rankings and being a continuous process one should do it regularly.
In your case, I think the same thing has happened. You should continue with your Link Building efforts.

What i think is when we keep on updating our content and upgrade our product features, automatically it will be looked up by search engines. Dont stop your promotion at any time. Keep doing in a gradual way. Dont do drastic promotions in a single day or something. DO update your blogs and sitemap and submit them accordingly. These are the key ways to keep yourself in a good search engine position.
