I was wondering what PR means to bloggers. I've been following the thread on whether the toolbar PR update means anything, and that led me to think about what it means to bloggers in particular? Any thoughts?
no, SERPs means traffic from search engines PR is just a tool to indicate site popularity and therefore that the SERPs may be good too.
not a lot really - 90% of my traffic comes from other places. I guess you could sell links, if you wanted to
I don't know.... I was under the impression that SERP is related to PR. If a site is listed as PR7 for a keyword and you have a PR4, then the PR7 will take precedence. I think people downgrade PR because it's only updated for 'them' once every few months, although I believe google is always updating their PR system internally. They just don't bother to push it out to the public all the time. How much you can sell links for can be related to PR, too. I would rather have concrete proof about how much traffic can come my way instead (if someone sells me a link on a PR7 that will only send 2 people a day vs. a PR4 that will send me 10 people a day...) But is that all it means to blogs in particular?
