We have lost PR from 3-4 to 0-1 on 5 online shops. They are on the same Ip adress. What can we do now?
I have a site, the one in my signature, that has not seen a PR update since last spring when it received PR one. I have regularly updated this site, the content is original (though there are other sites about this subject some content may seem a bit similar) and I have over two thousand back links. It has floated in the SERP’s from page one to page 3, traffic could be better but it is not a niche that I expected to receive tons of traffic. Why is this site not seeing an update? I agree that PR is not the most important thing but it is valuable for link building and, to be honest, it would be nice as an acknowledgement of my hard work. Anybody have thoughts on why it has not received an update? Thanks
hm, really strange, because really none of my sites have changed in their PR and there are quite a lot of them where a lot of backlinks were built on.
Then please explain the presence of sites and pages that have sat at PR N/A for years, including .edu pages (which get Google love more easily). If it's not big deal and happens automatically, surely there is some reasonable explanation for this. Bonus point if you can explain why Google would lie about such a thing, as they've said that PR anything is not automatic.
Yes, but you won't like the answer. The answer is self-apparent by your post content: The problem is obviously low quality, possibly spammed, backlinks. That's the only way you have that many backlinks and slide off of the first page, even in a high traffic niche.
It's a standard turn of phrase. People tend to get a little less offended that way. If the feedback is helpful to you, I'm glad for it.
There are, and they are all banned, penalized, deindexed. Completely different issue - discussion of banned sites is irrelevant to discussion about PR updates. They don't get updated, ever, and stay on N/A because they are on a blacklist. You just like arguing for the sake of arguing, don't you? I alraedy told you, it's very obviously not an update because a brand new site will go to 0/10 even if it has supplied with powerful backlinks since Day 1 and as such should go to at least 5/10. Are you now trying to tell the world that G withhold's PageRank in some updates? Is that what you are saying? Well yippee my site got "updated" but Google held all the PR back. Going to PR 0/10 is PRETTY MUCH automatic.
Your explanation fails scrutiny, since N/A pages of this sort turn up in Google searches. Were they blacklisted, that would not be so.
There are hundreds and thousands of pages getting PR0 EVERYDAY. This is NOT the PR update we are talking about.
There are lot of ups and downs this time. My site PR 4 goes to PR 0. But PR 3 site had a rise in PR and now PR 5. At least something good happens for me.
