Google PR drop

I once was listed on page 1 on Google when people where searching for "Resident Evil" (1 year ago or so, then it dropped). Now my site is nowhere to be found on Google. I did a PR check and my site has PR4 (added it to a few directories lately). Do i have to wait for the next PR update or whats wrong?

There are other RE sites out there with PR4 and are listed on page one. I am lost

    Any suggestions?

PR has very little to do with SE Rank.

    URL: http://www.rehorror.net

I've heard of stuff like SERP's, PR, SEO just a few days ago. Been in the business since 5 years and achieved alot, but never cared about search engine rankings or ad revenues. Now i do.

I need to dig into that SEO thing..

I am doing one site, having 3 others hosted. I need to start some good promotions for them all. reH is established with about 1500 uniques/day at the mo, but www.manhuntuncut.com and www.optimalcamouflage.com needs some serious marketing to get them into Google.

I know that backlinks is not all to get good SE results, but i yet have to discover all the new things search engines look into nowadays.
It was way easier back in 2000 or so, only with meta tags.

On www.optimalcamouflage.com I would ask why you’re using a Door Way Page.

If you’re going to use one I recommend adding more Meta Tags to it since i only see a Title Tag.

    On http://www.rehorror.net why are you using a <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="index, nofollow"> ?

On your other pages I don’t see Any Meta Tags besides Title Tag.

I suggest using some Image Tags.

Me fool. Thanks for brining that to my attention. Edited it to "follow"

I have to talk with the guy who runs OC. That site actually is ridiculous. Many links lead nowhere. Content is lame too. I might drop him soon anyway.

Thanks for the help SEO-MAN. What else would you change?

Start using google adwords now :D

SERP = Search Engine Results (basically the position of your website)
Page Rank (PR) = fundamental principles of how Google ranks web pages

You have 14 backlinks (you must improve) and 289 pages indexed by google while your PR remains 4. Thats not bad ;)

    Thanks maldives!

14 backlinks only. Thats weird.. I submitted reH to about 20 directories lately. Those 14 google counts only come from random affiliates as it seems. Gotta wait for a google update. It cant be only 14... hm

Better roll up your sleaves and get to work. This is great place to learn.

P.S. When you are learning, don't read anything that was written more than 6 months ago. The more recent the better. SEO has changed a lot since 2000 and it keeps changing.

The 14 links reported by Google are not a complete list of the backlinks Google knows about, just a (random) sample of the links Google knows about.
