    Hello Guys,

I am having a website which has got PR5 in last update of Google and with this Updates it lost one PR means it gone to PR4 from PR5.

i have not optimize the site since last update i have just done promotional work on it to drive more traffic.

can any one tell how to Conclude the reason on which google has dropped down the Page Rank.

i have not done too much marketing of website .

    Thanks in Advance

It is normal thing of update PR, some site got high and some lost their PR. It is due to Backlinks at last update your website have high PR backlinks and now your site have less compare to last update.

It doesn't necessarily mean you have fewer backlinks than before, instead Google may be placing less importance on those links.

It happened to one of my sites also.

The most important thing about your website is the usability and the good content you provide. The drop of PR sometimes means that you have lost some influence. Sometimes it is a global Google PR change. Don;t focus on your website PR. Focus to provide quality.

If you add more links on your page then it may cause of the decreasing PR.

I've also lost pr this time - from pr2 to pr1, even though I've doubled the number of links (110-240 roughly). Have also done SEO work on site.

To maintain your PR status with Google you need to be adding Quality Backlinks almost daily, there is no standing still as far as Google are concerned, you are either moving forwards> or <backwards.

Maybe you lost some important backlinks in the meantime.
A lot of people lost PR on the last PageRank update, maybe Google changed something in the PR algorithm.
It's harder and harder to maintain PR5 or PR6...

Its not a big loose, may be your BL age is less, or the site rank reduced where holding ur link, th enumber of quality BL is reduced etc.. Any how I guessing the issue from BL

You can build quality back links, then you can gain PR.

it's hard to maintain pr5 or better if you don't add links to it on a steady basis
