    Hi,

I have recently launched my site and really pleased to see its topping the tables in msn for phrases like algarve rental apartments and doing ok for a few others. Its also reasonable nin yahoo but not getting picked up for all phrases (i guess its because of the long string urls).

However, despite getting a fair PR of 4 i am not appearing in google in any way, shape or form. if anyone has any ideas it woud be superb.

    thanks,
    Neil

Try doing some research into the Google 'sandbox'. There's a theory that Google discounts the relevance new sites heavily by applying a filter to them on the search results. It can supposedly take 6-12 months for this filter to dissappear.

It sounds to me that this is exactly what's happening to you.

Google takes a lot of time indexing new sites and also puts them under scanner (dampening effect) before being visible to the SERPs.

Trying submitting to Google every 2nd week untill it is indexed finally.

You can't rush Google! It does take a long time to battle though the filters, the best thing you can do is keep your site clean of spam and update it frequently and request links from other related websites. (we are talking about 6-9 months for even a mildly competitive word). In the meantime you could try targetting some specific keyword phrases?
