google PR and php

When i first made my website all my pages were .html then i found out about this amazing thing, php include (great for site wide links, including different ads and navigation menu on every page)

anyway, i renamed all my pages to end in .php got it working and all was fine, then the google PR update happened i got a PR of 4 on my homepage ten all my other pages were 0 which i was a bit confused by but wasnt too worried as atleast my homepage had a pr, then i checked my html pages and they ranged from 2-4
so why is it my html pages got a PR and my php didnt when its basically exactly the same with the exception being my navigation and sitewide links say php include in the code instead of the actual links to pages?

(i also made the changes about a month before the PR update so they were included in link updates)

You most likely will need to wait for another PR update or two before it's completely filtered down to the PHP pages. Also make sure you don't have any links (internal or external) to your .html files.

there's a rumor going around that the PR giving to pages this past week was a long over-due update... and that the PR was from a while back and not an up-to-date PR.

if that rumour is true it might make sense as i was kinda hoping for a PR of 5 on my homepage not a 4, but im still happy, atleast its a start

I think that is just a rumour, as there is no way that Google would be running two indexes unless they had to. I have noticed that this last 2 weeks or so, not only is Google spidering more often, but it is indexing the pages within a couple of hours.

i think it will just be a rumour as i think it would be daft of them to give an old PR rank but who knows

Although I do not have a lot of concrete evidence, my findings are that Google makes updates to html pages much faster than php, particularily when getting new pages indexed.

    why would they do that?
surely they should make updates at the same rate for all websites, more so on php and asp etc as they are more likely to beupdated

ive just checked, and most of my php pages have been indexed, just not as highly as the html 1s

ive heard google thrown upon having more than 1 page with the same content on so do you think i should remove the html pages now?

Yes, Google hates duplicate content, so you should remove one set of the pages.

I think that's more likely to be coincidence or an anomaly of the sample, Spyware Remover -- as long as the links to and from the PHP pages aren't unwieldy, Googlebot seems to do just fine -- it does an excellent job of picking up forum pages, sometimes within minutes of creation...
