Google PPC Question for CB

    So,

I've been doing well with the Google content network and I've ran some placement reports. I am noticing the majority of my clicks comes from yeah.... (gmail) meaning when people check their gmail and if the e-mail is related to what I sell the ad appears on the right hand side.

Now, my question is has anyone ever proven that ads in gmail actually convert?

My campaign is kicking butt and selling well but I find it hard to believe my big converts are coming from the gmail ads even though this is where 70% of my clicks come from.

Therefore, I am considering blocking gmail and increasing my CPC.

Any thoughts on ads showing in the Content network for Google in gmail accounts? Anyone have any experience with this?

    Good Question...

On the campaigns where I do really well within the content network (ie: lots of impressions and clicks), I have yet to make one sale from a gmail click.

This is why it's so important to be able to track your conversions if you can although I know that's often not very easy as an affiliate.

This GMail issue is one I'm going to remember though. I need to check into my content report and see if I'm getting clicks from there.

Go into your adwords account and go to the help section and search "block sites" or something related to that, it pulls it up. I am also considering blocking parked domains as I noticed a TON of traffic comes from parked domains in the content network in Google.

I don't think many people pay much attention to content and the reason they claim it doesn't convert well is due to the fact that they don't analyze it closely enough to see that 20% of their traffic is gmail clicks and another 30% is parked domains.

Get rid of this and we can increase our ROI

yep, parked domains usually bring low quality traffic, Most of the clicks from there is fake. Also there some partner sites of google are bad some give benefit to each search to their members.

I think I'm going to block parked domains too. I'm really getting into rocking the content network hardcore for the first time. Oh yeah, it's the sweet stuff. ??? HuH
