I have started using Google+. It is NOT just copy of Facebook. But it is having lot more new features. I like it very much.
You can its a copy but its not correct at all, because Google have introduces its all product in one service like social networking, e-mailing, blogging etc under one roof. So you can able to use one ID for all your needs. Basically today all new design is somehow similar to other websites but feature wise its totally different thing.
Google specializes in copy other's ideas, designs or content, but since they have spend years giving away free candy to "loyal" users they will always defend what cannot be denied. Among their first copied "inspiration" was its favicon change, that was the same as the Guardian.co.uk had for years. Now you see that cheap WordPress imitation that they have implemented for the search engine, and what to say about Google Buzz trying to be the Twitter of this huge monopoly that have mastered the way to get people distracted with toys and candy while they do what themselves censored about Microsoft.
I don't think page rank determines the popularity. PR doesn't matters, i have PR8 domain, it means that its so popular? Google is of course more popular than facebook.
All good ideas come from somewhere - some type of originating inspiration point. I personally have not gotten into the Google+ scene yet...I will stick to Facebook.
i just started using it right now and i think yes it looks like facebook. The different is yoa can only join google+ if somebody invites you.
Not agree more....I have been using Google + since Google Launched it and I found it quite attractive so far. Since it is a social network website, you may find few features common to Facebook, but it doesn't mean it is a copy-paste of Facebook.
@Gyahoo you rightly point out these similarities but I don't think so that it is completely copy as these similarities are inevitable for any chat and get to gather site. It is fact that Google tried it best to make many creative points also.
G+, as a new network, is free to take what appear to be the best features from both Twitter (for example, unlimited followers) and Facebook (limited following). And it can more easily change as it grows and sees what works and what doesn’t. It’s the perfect time to create a new social network, because it’s become clear on Facebook and Twitter what works and what doesn’t. Much of what constitutes good online etiquette and feature use has only become clear in the last couple of years. They’re even learning from how the networks grew. Facebook, for example, became popular in three stages. G+ is already at the first stage:
Google+ needs to be improved in terms of functionality to allow creating custom pages like in Facebook
Hey friend, you are right but think Facebook had all the things which a Social networking site wants so any new social network is a copy of any previous one...
