I am not using Google +, but it is very far from a "copy" is Facebook.
In fact, it is very different. I cannot wait until it becomes fully public. I will not go back to Facebook.

I haven't started using the Google plus but it seems quite cool. I quit facebook sometime ago and until they improve before i can go back there. They should learn a few from Google and know what to do to make facebook alive again because it seems dead to me.

Google Plus would prove to be big competitor for Facebook and I think Google launched it to kick Facebook out since in early years Facebook out kicked Google Orkut. So Google looking to take revenge :)

I don't have a personal Facebook page anymore (only one for my website), but I do have Google Plus.
So far Google+ seems to be awesome. I guess the "Stream" in Google+ is similar to Facebook's "News feed", but it just seems a lot cleaner in G+ (maybe because there aren't many users on it yet)
G+ also has a few things that FB lacks, like the selective group messaging service huddle and the Group video chat service Hangout and 'easy to understand' privacy settings.
Its a pretty good start by Google, but I reckon there is a lot more to come from the big G.

    Cheers
    James

EDIT: Thought I'd add this video about it from TWiT which explains and shows a few things.

Even if you will receive you will be unable to get in, until google takes off this message:

Does it have page creation features like facebook as well?
Google+ is more focused on group video chats, i don't think it will be threat to facebook.. But may be skype will not like it :p

I don't know where I read that article.. I think it's Google's answer to Facebook. Still Facebook has already have a good social community before Google+. Imitating and making it like Facebook won't gain them more users.

Na I don't think so, but you could probably just set up a profile for that.

Yeah, I reckon Skye will be passing bricks about now...
Hangout looks awesome. You can start a public hangout (where any random can enter), or you can choose to hang out in one of your existing circles (where only those in that circle can enter) or you can make a new circle, extend a circle, add several circles, or whatever.
I can really see a lot of potential for this. Especially with things like education (tutoring a small class), Staff meetings, design groups etc, etc. They could easily integrate Docs, calendar and translate and whatever else. They already have an awesome translate service and a pretty good voice to text system in place. Voice to text + translate + text to voice, would mean truly international group chats, meetings, education etc could take place... well, that's a while off, but I'm sure you get the picture. :)

    :D.

It is much easier to replicate Facebook.com than to replicate Google.com.

Both sites have a large user base, but unlike Google, Facebook has no technological edge over its competitors.
