    I simply cannot get this

    Google updated pr recently.

They left my homepage of the directory pr 4 as it was before.

But they made all the inner pages of my directory pr 0:mad:

Know my directory only has pr on the home page and rest of the pages the pr is showing 0.

There was a thread here which linked to seroundtable, search engine journal and some of the other blogs.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=534100

Many of the sites saw a drop in pr, but traffic and rankings remained the same. So currently everything is the way it was, without the green pixels on the pr bar (I'm going by what I read on that thread)

Search engine journal or seroundtable, (don't remember which one) flatly said, were not going to use the nofollow, (nofollow means no trust).

I guess the next logical step would be to start playing with the rankings if Google finds out that tinkering with the pr bar didn't give them the outcome they expected.

I doubt the pagerank has completly updated yet, it takes much more time than this, we're talking about the whole web :)

Google stripped the pr from my category pages months ago, now the homepage has gone from 5 to 2 but not in one go, one pr point, one day at a time.

Contrary to the thread's title, i believe it is the OTHER WAY around!

Google's algo cannot handle directories because we grow stonger not just in irrelavent things such as pagerank, but more important things like SERPs.

hence; Directories are playing games with google.

The only thing with google, is that it's their ball, and they cry and take it home with them and then do bad things to honest directories.

I think we can all agree nothing consistant with this update ,some of my catagories went from pr2 to pr5 with this update while others went from pr2 to pr0.

LOL ROB i love the way you worded it but true. They dont realise that so many people who have been affected by this latest round are people who depend on their directories/advertising revenues to feed their families ,pay for health care etc.Google wants this revenue for themselves .I personally think they have affected their own creditibility in the last few days. They decided what pr they wanted to hand out to each site and 'tweaked' the system until they got what they wanted , then went back and fixed the 'obvious mistakes ' such as youtube.

Yes Mr G is a non entity whether you are billionaires, millionaires, or what ever it proves that arrogance in this instance is really akin to downright naivety and stupidity

But then again all this arrogance leaves gaps for the real players to open up and benefit from

So it's not our business what they do in ensuring that the shareholders on Wall Street start dumping the stock of Mr G in the Hudson River
