Any1 got any good pointers for optimising my website in google places.

From what I have learnt, to optimise for google places has a few main factors: -

• Reviews (Google and External)
• Have consistent address details across directories that match the place listing
• Local Phone Number
• Business Keyword in listing title
• Backlinks to linked website
• Added in custom maps
• A complete places listing (pictures, videos, opening hours etc)
• verified places user

It's mainly a completed places listing and reviews. You don't even need a website anymore. In case you haven't figured it out already, Google is moving away from backlinks.

 

backlinks will alwaysbe a factor in its algorithm.

 

according to google.. relevancy is important.. make sure to text that best describe your listings..

 

It is important Reviews on your local business.
