Hello all I have a Google Places listing that does fairly well. However I want to redo the site that the listing points to in order to get better organic results. If I do the site change will that affect the positioning of my PLaces listing? Thanks for everyone's replies in advance.

    It depends on many factors:

    1. What type of search results are appearing for your core keywords? If it is pure SERP (i.e. only listings), then the website change will not affect your ranking). If it is blended SERP (i.e. website merged with listing), then it might affect your ranking.
    2. Is your website currently optimized for local search and is it merged with your Place page?
    3. While you are redoing your website will the old content stay there, or the site will be "under construction"?

Maybe try little changes first and see how it will goes. Just make sure everything goes as legitimate for your site.
