Today, if you do a search in Google like: "Miami party rentals", in any mayor browser you will get: 1- First: 3 top sponsored listing. 2- Second: 7 local listing from Google Places. 3- Third: scrolling down the "first" organic listing. This change have been implemented this week and the local business that are at the "top"(irony) of the organic results have been heavily affected by this change with a drop to near zero online traffic and business calls. If this layout change persist, then the natural question that any local business will ask is: Why spent time, effort and money in SEO when the results are really small, even if you are at position #1 for a very important keyword?
Oh that's a bad news I heard from you. I have tried searching "Miami party rentals" and I have seen local listing on top of the SERP.
That is going to be a rough change for some. Google has made many changes over the years and we've all had to adapt to making SEO changes or in this case, maybe doing less SEO. Google is the most widely used search engine, but there are others like Yahoo and Bing that have pretty good followings. Google can be a great traffic source, but it is not the only traffic source.
I have search for my keyword "free video scrap" & I've found that on the 1st & 2nd position of Google. No problem with that.
